1925 American Flyer, Dominion Train Set in Original Box
Fantastic high grade four piece clockwork American Flyer train set featuring two scarce #1107 Canadian Pacific Dominon passenger cars, a #10 cast iron locomotive with original key, a #120 tender, and nine track pieces. They all come in their original box with inserts. Like the train set, the box is in amazing condition. Purchased from Morphy's March, 2009 auction, Lot 1781, where it was "excellent+" (locomotive/tender) and "like new" passenger cars. #10 Locomotive - black painted cast iron with gold highlights. Screw on key is removable. Die cast metal 8-spoke wheels painted red without piston rods (although the hole is present in the rear wheel). Start/stop manual lever located in cab. Removable clockwork motor and housing. Size: 6¼". #120 Tender - Black tin litho with metal wheels. AF Flyer line on each side surrounded by red and white lines. 120 lithoed on rear. Interior embossed to resemble loose coal. Frame is embossed. Size: 4¾". Number 1 #1107 Dominion Flyer Passenger Car - Scarce car! All tin litho with metal wheels. Solid black roof and frame with marron body. Recessed windows, door, and body outlined yellow/orange. "Canadian Pacific" lithoed in center just above the frame. Frame is embossed. Size: 5½". Number 2 #1107 Dominion Flyer Passenger Car - description as above Track - includes 7, 11" curves and 2, 10" straights (8 ft. total length). Box - Outstanding condition and one of the best I've seen. Features large full color applied print of speeding locomotive. Boys as engineer, president, and dispatcher are shown above. Also includes its original full color apron (side) print. The company logo, guarantee, manufacturer name and address are shown as well the Uncle Sam American Toys logo and a locomotive across the bottom edge. The number "2" was stamped onto this same apron just to the left of the print. Original "3.00" price still shows as well. Size: 12" x 11" x 3". Sold: May 2009
